Our client, a market-leading, global manufacturer of capital equipment to a variety of industries, is looking for a technically-minded product marketing manager to own one of their top-performing product lines.nThis is an exciting opportunity to not only market the product but also to be an active participant in the future development of the product, acting as a conduit between the customer and the product development teams.
What you'll need:
n5+ years of product marketing experience in a B2B engineering company.nStrong commercial awareness and the ability to think strategically about product and business issues.nCredible technical understanding and knowledge, alongside an understanding of technical specifications and documentation.nPrevious experience of working in a large, multi-national corporation and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.nStrong decision-making skills when evaluating new and existing product ideas; and able to validate why certain product ideas have higher potential than others.nExcellent communication skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team including sales, marketing, R&D and Advanced Manufacturing.
It would also be advantageous to have:nProduct experience within an engineering solution, including mechanical, electrical and software elements.nExperience of a gated development process (such as stage gate or phase gate).
What you'll be doing:
nManaging front-end product marketing activities, including Voice of the Customer interviews and future concept development.nCreating value proposition messaging and materials and working closely with marketing and sales to deliver messaging to end users.nDeveloping the strategic marketing plan for your product, including market segmentation, functional requirements, positioning and pricing strategies.nActing as the subject matter expert for your product and identify disruptive technology and business opportunities.nTranslating market and customer needs into innovative solutions.nCommunicating frequently with the sales force and generate useful tools to aid them in the sales cycle.
