Main duties of the job

  • Support Human Resources Business Partners in delivering HR services for the Trust.
  • Provide professional HR employee relations advisory service to managers in designated service lines.
  • Apply creative solutions to people management issues to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Advise on terms and conditions of employment, employment law, HR policies, and staff employment matters.
  • Provide support to line managers on HR policies and operational HR issues.
  • Deliver training on various HR policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with departments to provide a comprehensive HR Business Partner service supporting business development.

Job responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Provide advice and support for HR strategy development.
  • Deliver expert HR advisory service to managers.
  • Support managers in formal investigations and attendance management.
  • Participate in job evaluation process.

People Management

  • Ensure high-quality HR practices align with policies and guidelines.
  • Provide support for sickness absence management, performance, conduct, grievance, and bullying and harassment cases.
  • Manage HR aspects of organizational change proposals.
  • Promote effective people management culture.

Policy and Procedure Development

  • Support development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Influence HR team in HR knowledge and practice development.

Training and Development

  • Support HR Fundamentals training.
  • Deliver training courses for line managers.

Team Development

  • Support HR team development based on Business Partner principles.
  • Participate in team reviews for ongoing development.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Level 5 CIPD or equivalent experience.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Refined attention to detail.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience supporting managers with investigations for disciplinary, grievance, and bullying and harassment issues.
  • Experience working in partnership with trade unions.
  • Experience supporting managers with the change management process.

Desirable

  • Working within HR in the healthcare sector.
  • NHS Job Evaluation trained.
