Assistant Accountant

Working as part of a growing finance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the company's accounting records in an efficient manner to ensure they are up to date, accurate and complete.

The role:

  • Control of purchase ledger, ensuring all supplier accounts are kept up to date in a timely and accurate manner and that all supplier communications are managed in a professional way
  • Periodic reconciliations of stock supplier accounts
  • Assist with all sales ledger activities, including credit control and management of aged debtors, dealing with customer queries and processing card payments
  • Posting and reconciliation of SagePay account
  • Processing all staff expense claims and reconciling company credit cards
  • Carry out all related month end procedures as part of overall control of sales and purchase ledgers

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience of working in a distribution or retail business
  • Experience of multi-currency transactions
  • Good IT skills, notably Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms
  • Accurate processing skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised and must be a self-starter with a proven ability to multi-task, use their own initiative to solve problems
  • Recognised accountancy qualification (AAT or equivalent) desirable
