Hays Accountancy and Finance, Derry are working in partnership with a large public sector organisation for the appointment of a Staff Officer Accountant. You will work on a contract basis within an established finance team and will be offered a competitive market-leading salary.

Your new role
The Financial Services Unit carries out some of the following tasks which you will assist with: captures incoming post and case links post to member records; deals with outgoing post; deals with member complaints , FOIs and SARS relevant to FSU; reports on pension statistics; deals with past service queries; processes monthly payroll for members; deals with member payroll queries; manages overpayment function; prepares annual superannuation accounts; prepares monthly branch accounts; prepares ad hoc finance reports and manages assurance function - Internal and External Audit. There will be other finance duties as and when required.

What you'll need to succeed
Fully qualified accountant and a full Member of one of the following bodies:

Chartered Accountants Ireland;
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants;
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

1-years Post-Qualification Experience

What you'll get in return
You will work for a civil service department on a contracted basis, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. After an initial training period, hybrid work is available. If you are not able to work full-time hours, then part-time hours are also available for this position.
