London, United Kingdom Queen Mary University of London Full time

About the Role

The Strategic Partnerships Officer is a newly created role which supports two key areas of the Policy and Strategic Partnerships Portfolio – the Centre for Arts, Culture and Creative Collaboration, and the Civic University Agreement. The main focus of the 6 month secondment is to create a communications strategy across both teams, sharing news about the many projects run in partnership with local creative and community organisations. Through writing newsletters and website articles and creating content for social media, the post holder will play a vital role in keeping people updated and engaged. They will also support the Arts and Culture Manager and Civic Engagement Lead with administrative tasks including finance, room booking and event planning, and maintain contacts with a wide range of QM staff and external partners.

About the Department

The Strategic Partnerships team is centrally located and reports to Philippa Lloyd who is Vice Principal for Policy and Strategic Partnerships. The Centre for Arts, Culture and Creative Collaboration team brings together artists, academics and cultural organisations to collaborate and make change. Queen Mary’s Civic University Agreement was launched in 2022 and supports the delivery of our institutional Strategy 2030. The Agreement outlines a series of commitments that Queen Mary will make in, with and for East London

About You

We are looking for an individual who is seeking a new challenge, excited to support partnerships between local creative and community organisations and the university. You will have great writing skills and enjoy creating content for newsletters, websites and social media. Attention to detail and the ability to work across a wide range of projects is a must. This role is suited to someone who is keen to support the building of positive partnerships with East London organisations and communities.

About Queen Mary

At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.

Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.

We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.

Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
