This role manages both internal and external conference and College events to ensure excellent delivery with a customer service focus, and to take a leading role in driving new business in Conferences and Events.

About the Role:

  • Manage events from booking through to implementation and billing. 
  • Revenue generation requiring the use of initiative and problem solving skills. 
  • Manage the Events and Conference team as a whole in the delivery of a profitable, well implemented programme of events. 
  • Team working, sometimes under pressure.

Key objectives are to develop opportunities to maximise revenue from these areas and to ensure a professional customer-focused approach across all the functions of the team at all times. The Conference and Events Manager manages one full time Events Assistant. 

About You:

  • Demonstrable experience of developing a Conference and Events team or service, including experience of managing events, conferences, courses and/or training programmes 
  • Ability to develop professional and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including external clients, Fellows, students and staff; 
  • Demonstrable experience of financial management, including budgeting, costing, and the ability to meet budgetary targets whilst delivering high quality service and outputs.
