Job Purpose:

One of the key objectives of Pilgrim’s Shared Services Ltd is to provide valued added expertise in financial and tax reporting services to other Business Units in the group. This leads to the Finance Assistant role reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and Senior Managers within the Financial Services team. The purpose of the role will be to:

  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders. These will include the RTR Senior Managers, Head of RTR, Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager and Head of Internal Audit.
  • This role provides an exciting opportunity to rotate within two key streams within the Shared Service function. The first 4 months within Internal audit; and the later 7 months within the Financial Services stream.

Duties / Responsibilities:

(Internal Audit)

  • Collaborate with the internal audit team to assess and improve financial controls, risk management, and compliance.
  • Conduct audits of processes, systems, and financial statements
  • Identify areas for process optimization and risk mitigation.

(Financial Services)

  • Reporting outputs will include monthly VAT and Intrastat reconciliations and associated reporting to HMRC.
  • Supporting & producing overhead reporting for various departments within the shared service company.
  • Support the delivery key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Operate with the highest standards of financial integrity and demonstrate each of the company values to a high level.
  • Work as part of a highly motivated team, supporting other members of the team.
  • To carry out other duties that may reasonably be requested of you to ensure the efficient running of the Pilgrim’s Shared Services Financial Services and Internal Audit Departments.

Job Requirements:

  • University Student studying a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to build working positive relationships with key stakeholders & colleagues.
  • A team player who can work collaboratively across business units.
  • Strong interpersonal & planning skills.
