Job summary

This role will be an integral member of the Leadership Team in the Trust and the nursing profession. The role will be a nursing and clinical advisor to programmes in the Improvement and Transformation Team and the Electronic Patient Record Implementation. The postholder will actively engage the nursing and AHP groups during any digital developments and develop and deliver strategies to enhance engagement and communication with these groups. As a core member of the Clinical Informatics Team, this role will champion the nursing and AHP professions and work with this team to ensure all Trust employees' interests and patients' needs are represented in existing and developing digital applications

The NIO will undertake the Clinical Safety course and will assist in ensuring, that all clinically facing developments are safe, that appropriate governance is in place, and the legal expectations of DCB 0129 / DCB 0160 (Health and Social care Act 2012) are met.

Main duties of the job

This role will assist the CNIO to ensure clinical safety and compliance of digital systems and the matching processes, training and policy with all nursing related standards, protocols and guidelines set either by the Trust or nationally by NMC/NHS England or other external bodies. The NIO will assist the CNIO and the EPR board to ensure the scope and progress of nursing/AHP developments within the Trust's EPR system and more widely through advancements in digital improvement and innovation. Identify, report on and with the management of EPR clinical risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate all identified risks and issues. To deputise for the Chief Nursing Information Officer when required. To attend meeting / forums whilst deputising this role within the Trust, ICB and nationally. Person Specification

Education and Professional Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse with evidence of continuing professional development Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent experience Completed a Project Management or quality improvement course or equivalent experience

Desirable

Masters level qualification Recognised teaching/assessing qualification Project management qualification

Communication & Relationship Skills

Essential

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation skills Experience of stakeholder engagement Able to influence colleagues outside the direct line management and immediate team structure.

Desirable

Demonstrate working with external stakeholders, delivering an organisation priority

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Experience in a senior nursing/clinical leadership role In-depth professional knowledge acquired through training and experience over an extended period, in multiple care settings Clinical experience of change management and successful implementation of organisation wide digital applications

Desirable

Experience of working with teams using QI methodologies
