Main duties of the job

You will need to be customer focused, pro-active, possessstrong communication skills, confident IT skills and a strong work ethic.You will have the opportunity to workwith a diverse team, committed to working together in supporting our clinicalservices.

You will be administering clinical IT systems, reviewing andgranting access requests and support end users on the systems you are assignedto support.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Minimum of 4 GCSE Grade C or above must include English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Desirable

Vocational IT qualifications (eg ECDL) A good comprehension of NHS clinical software. Customer Service training or qualifications NVQ level 3 in Business Administration / experience.

Experience

Essential

Experience of providing administrative or technical support. Experience of communicating directly and indirectly with senior personnel.

Desirable

Experience within an IM&T/systems related environment. Experience of working within an IT Service Desk environment. Experience of working within the NHS.

Special Skills & Knowledge

Essential

Good knowledge/ability/confidence to use appropriate computer hardware and software, Microsoft Office, internet browsers and file management. Excellent organisational, inter-personal and communication skills. Able to support and work with other team members by having a collaborative approach and contributing ideas. Ability to work under pressure Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work to agreed deadlines. Demonstrate a flexible attitude to meet service needs
