Watford, United Kingdom Allwyn UK Full time

Join our journey to create a new experience for the National Lottery and help us to power change for the greater good.

About us:

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus and Italy.  We have been officially awarded the Fourth Licence (10 year licence) to operate the National Lottery starting February 2024.

‍We’ve developed ground-breaking technologies, built player protection frameworks, and have a proven track record of making lotteries better.  Our aim is to create one of the UK’s most inclusive organisations – where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.

Allwyn is an Equal Opportunity Employer which prides itself in being diverse and inclusive. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation in the workplace.  All employment decisions at Allwyn are based on the business needs, the job requirements, and the individual qualifications.  Allwyn encourages applications from individuals regardless of age, disability (visible or hidden), sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

While the main contribution of the National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do.  Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey to build a bigger, better, and safer National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

Role Purpose:

The Fourth License represents a step-change in the approach to regulating the National Lottery. It is centred on an outcomes-focused approach to regulation and reflects the Statutory Duties of the Commission. This approach places increased responsibility and accountability on the Licensee to operate the National Lottery to achieve outcomes consistent with the National Lottery etc. Act 1993.

In practice, increased Licensee ownership is formalised through requirements to provide the Gambling Commission with assurance of compliance with the Fourth License, including through an Annual Assurance Statement which has been certified as approved by Allwyn’s (AEL) Board of Directors.

Working for the Head of Regulatory Assurance, the Regulatory Assurance Manager will play a key role in gathering, interpreting and presenting back a range of information from across business functions to identify and develop enhancements to  Strategies, Policies, Processes or Procedures (SPPP), tools or training that may be required in order ensure or enhance compliance with License Compliance requirements.

This includes partnership with the business to embed understanding of our license requirements, and the assurance methodology and tools that are in place to support the delivery of comprehensive assurance evidence. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that we can embed and maintain high-quality assurance policies and processes, including Best Practice, across the business with appropriate regulatory support and guidance to ensure we can deliver and demonstrate compliance,  and that allows the business to achieve its functional objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

●       Collaborate with the wider Assurance function and other business units to assess performance against the Allwyn Assurance Framework.

●       Provide guidance on how to reflect key concepts in their ways of working, documents and decisions.

●       Contribute to comprehensive written assurance submissions for the Board, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with 4NL regulatory standards.

●       Guide business units on the information required for assurance submissions and support cross-functional teams in understanding and meeting regulatory requirements.

Key Measures of Success:

●        Operating with integrity.

●        Proactive and positive relationships with internal business functions and the regulator, contributing to a collaborative and integrated approach to regulatory compliance and assurance.

●        Understanding regulatory license requirements and using these to guide the business and help embed the new regulatory and assurance framework.

●        Ongoing development and enhancements to the assurance framework, policies and processes to ensure evidence of continually improving  Best Practice and compliance with our License Obligations.

●        Contributing to the on-time delivery of the Annual Assurance Statement, ad-hoc Assurance Statements, Annual Resilience Statement and other assurance artefacts, as required.

Key Skills and Experience:

●        Bright, analytical, able to review information and identify trends

●        Ability to understand and apply complex concepts and translate these into meaningful advice

●        Excellent relationship building, able to partner with the business to build trust and deliver against objectives

●        Good written and spoken communication skills and ability to develop and well structured, persuasive and factually accurate material for a variety of purposes.

●        Prior experience of regulatory exposure and an understanding of policies and processes that drive and evidence regulatory compliance.

●        Effective time management and ability to plan and consistently deliver quality to agreed timescales
