The Assurance and Governance Facilitator role is a full time post (37.5 hours). The post holder will be based at Watford General Hospital with occasional travel to St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital.

The post holder will provide administrative support to the Assurance Lead, supporting them to ensure a high quality process for controlled documents is followed and standards of care are assessed according to the correct methodology.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Assurance Lead, the Quality Governance Corporate Nursing team, divisional Quality Governance Facilitators and external organisations.

This is an exciting time to join the small Assurance Team; whilst the CQC are implementing their new regulatory methodology there will be lots of opportunity to see how this works at a Trust level and be part of ongoing projects to improve and sustain policy compliance.

To support the Assurance Lead in coordinating and facilitating the Trust’s assurance processes for compliance with:

- An up-to-date database for all controlled documents that are fit for purpose
- The Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and enquiries
- Organising mock inspection activit

The post holder will act as the Trust coordinator for ensuring the maintenance of up-to-date policies, updating the controlled documents spreadsheet tracker and ensuring that the Trust’s Policy for Controlled Document is adhered to.

- To assist the Assurance Lead in coordinating the yearly programme of mock inspections including all administrative duties.
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for relevant meetings (Policy Guideline Review Group and CQC relationship meetings) and taking minutes as required in relation to data and reports required.

To maintain an up-to-date database of controlled documents, by informing authors/owners of approaching review dates and timelines for completing reviews.
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for controlled documents that are required for review and recommendation for ratification including supporting the authors on administrative preparation of the controlled document.
- Maintain daily oversight of the assurance and quality hub inboxes, escalating matters of concern to the Assurance Lead.
- To support the Assurance Lead in coordinating and facilitating the assurance processes for the CQC Registration and its Standards; including, undertaking periodic reviews against a coordinated programme and of evidence made available throughout the assurance and compliance processes.
- To act as the link between the assurance team and communications / IT teams in ensuring that articles relating to Assurance and other quality governance developments and achievements are included on the Trust intranet and e-updates.
