We are looking for a fixed term (12 months) Band 7 Practice Education Facilitator to join our radiographic workforce at WHTH. The post holder will work collaboratively with the undergraduate & post graduate students and well as other university trainees at within Radiology West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The role is a leadership position for education and training within the department.

They will be mentoring and supporting a team of student Radiographers, apprentice Radiographers and post graduate students.

There will be a requirement to undertake clinical practice also, within plain film, theatres and other modalities (depending on skill set).

The post holder will be working closely and reporting to the training and education Lead and Lead Superintendent Radiographer for Hemel as well as the WHTH Allied Health Professions workforce lead.

This role requires cross-site working within Radiology.

The main priority is to plan, co-ordinate and lead the practical training in diagnostic radiography & ultrasound to a diverse group of health care staff including trainee Radiographers, Radiographers, trainee enhanced practice sonographers, specialist radiology registrars, apprentice radiographer and MSc students within the radiology department.

Assist the clinical coordinators with the organisation and supervision of Radiology students and staff whilst providing a high standard of work as set by the department as regards the quality of radiology examinations.

Important skills and qualities for this post holder include, an in depth understanding of mentorship, leadership and followership.
A strong appreciation of all IRMER guidelines and procedures and clinical governance matters. Empathetic approach to sensitive HR matters and wellbeing concerns.
