Job summary

The Trust are seeking to recruit a Service Administrator to join the Perinatal Community Mental Health Service .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a friendly and proficient administration team, supporting a range of professionals within the service. It is an interesting and varied role and we'd like to find someone with good humour who enjoys the challenge of a busy working environment.

The successful applicant will need to be able to work 9am -5pm Monday - Friday, Occasionally attending a MDT meeting in Wareham.Training will take place in the office, but once trained, this post will be split between home working and office cover in Florence House, Westbourne.

The Service Administrator will be able to ensure a confidential, efficient and comprehensive administrative service is provided to clients and staff, having good IT skills, attention to detail, strong time management, great interpersonal & communication skills. You must be able to work accurately under pressure, and be able to work well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Day to day duties will involve providing a professional and courteous response to service users, occasionally handling distressed clients via telephone, diary management,updating medical records (using Rio) and assisting the team with general admin.

You will be working as part of an efficient and professional team.

Person Specification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

Essential

GCSE level English Language or equivalent To show understanding of patient confidentiality Well developed skills in communicating effectively with clients and other professionals within and outside the NHS whilst managing complex and sensitive information Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, the majority of which are non-routine, acquired through training and experience.

Desirable

ECDL or equivalent experience RSA 3 keyboard skills; audio typing and word processing Knowledge of NHS organisation and protocols Knowledge of specialist functional/medical/legal terms and knowledge and experience to deal with non-routine issues such as problem solving for an area of work or developing alternative or additional procedures

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

Essential

Demonstrable experience of using word processing, spreadsheet, database and or presentation software to RSA 2/3 or equivalent. Experience using an electronic patient record system. Experience in procurement/stock management/ordering systems
