Costing Administrator – Business Services | Harlow - with the potential for remote work post-probation | Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm | £26,000 per annum

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Costing Administrator to join their dynamic Business Services team in Harlow. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality standards in everything they do.

As a Costing Administrator, you will be the crucial link between the service desk, engineers, and clients, ensuring all job reports are client-friendly and processed correctly. Your responsibilities will include job costing across various contracts, invoice checking and approvals, and profitability analysis. You will also support the team in improving processes to drive revenue and decrease costs.

  • Strong PC skills, particularly in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Calm, clear, and focused under pressure
  • Assertiveness in dealing with complex situations
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Tesseract, Compleat, and Sage is advantageous

What will your role look like?

  • Execute job costing across all contracts according to agreed rates
  • Check and approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Conduct quality assurance for job costings
  • Analyse profitability across contracts to ensure efficiency
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements
  • Prepare customer valuations within contracted timescales
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, customers, and third-party suppliers
  • Issue costs to clients via invoices, ensuring accuracy for timely payments
