We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Coordinator to join our team and provide support to the Mechanical Team Leaders in supervising the operational, financial, and commercial aspects of the section. This is a multifaceted role that requires a detailed understanding of quality control processes, compliance, and SHE requirements. As the Mechanical Coordinator, you will be responsible for undertaking all support functions on both the domestic and commercial contracts, ensuring that all SHE requirements and KPI monitoring is maintained, recorded, and actioned accordingly. You will also lead on all Quality Control processes and ensure compliance for the Mechanical Team and HTS.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, being a technical point of contact for the Client, residents, business Officers, and service providers, carrying out site pre-inspections to ascertain job details and requirements, assessing all works and practices carried out by Gas Engineers, monitoring and recording all quality control procedures, data, and information from the quality control inspections, and undertaking both Health and Safety and Quality inspections during the course of works.

**Job Purpose**

To assist and support the Mechanical Team Leaders in supervising all operational, financial and commercial aspects of the section.

To lead on all Quality Control processes and ensure compliance for the Mechanical Team and HTS.

To ensure that all SHE requirements and KPI monitoring is maintained, recorded and actioned accordingly.

To undertake all support functions on both the domestic and commercial contracts.

To deputise for either of the Team Leaders in their absence.

**Duties**

**Operational**
- Being a technical point of contact for the Client, residents, business Officers, service providers, when raising works orders across alt contract areas.
- Utilising management IT systems to plan, allocate and appoint works to all craft operatives or service providers.
- Arranging with the craft staff, plant and material requirements.
- Carrying out site pre-inspections to ascertain job details and requirements.
- Carry out joint site visits with the client or service providers to determine the extent of works.
- Where required, acquiring any statuary, legislative or procedural certification such as service inspections, asbestos reports, hot works permits etc. to enable the progress of works.
- Assess all works and practices carried out by Gas Engineers, ensuring compliance with quality control requirements and standards.
- Monitor and record all quality control procedures, data and information from the quality control inspections.
- Make ready for SHEC and external auditors, all relevant quality control information.
- Undertake both Health and Safety and Quality inspections during the course of works.
- Carry out interim and post site inspections, both planned and ad-hoc to ensure that the required levels of quality, performance, safety and financial costs are met.
- Collate job details, financial costs, operative performance, or any other required information (for recording monitoring purposes) to build a job file.
- Approving and completing all mechanical works whether electronically or manually.

**Financial**
- Assisting management with the monitoring and budget control of domestic and commercial accounts, sub-contractor use and specialised plant provision.
- Assist management with insurance claims.
- Acquiring costs, estimates and quotations from service providers.
- Ensure that subcontractors are employed on schedule of rates items unless prior written approval is obtained from Senior Management.

**Health and Safety**
- Carry out risk assessments and assist the mechanical Team Leaders with the writing of method statements.
- Assist the Mechanical Team Leaders in the production and delivering of Toolbox
- Assist the Mechanical Team Leaders with inductions for new starters, subcontractors or agency workers.

Carry out site safety inspections prior to and during works. Record and monitor all necessary safety standards, in line with HSE and HTS safety standards.
- Assist with the arrangements of necessary health and safety/technical training as required, to ensure compliance for all members of the team.
- Monitor expiry dates, equipment usage and test dates for all the Mechanical sections test equipment and plant. Ensure that all operatives are sent to work safely, with the appropriate training and correct PPE and comply with all safety procedures/policies.

**General Duties**
- Carry out all day-to-day administration duties for all areas of the Mechanical Team.
- Progress and answer where possible any enquiries relating to the works, from any source.
- To carry out any other support function
