About the team

The Accounts Payable Team of 8 is part of the Business Services team who provide a central accounting function for the Fremantle businesses in the UK and Internationally.

Job overview

Reporting to the Head of Accounts Payable, the Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for a team of 5, Manage all Accounts Payable Functions within the Shared Service Centre. This includes supervising, directing, coordinating and reviewing work activities and work product. Incumbent will manage the Accounts Payable Team, direct the processing of Invoices, Expenses and Payments ensuring payments are made accurately and on time

Hold Weekly 121’s for new team members and Monthly 1-2-1’s, for permanent staff members, Daily Team Meetings & Various other AP Duties.

Hires and onboards Accounts Payable members along with the Head of Accounts Payable

Key Duties

Manages staff by planning Accounts Payable tasks, reviewing work product, evaluating performance, and scheduling and directing daily tasks and activities Working alongside Accounts Payable SME to Establish procedures and guidelines to ensure risk of theft and fraud are mitigated Ensures effective internal controls over Accounts Payable functions.  Assists all team members in accomplishing the goals of the department. Working alongside SME / Head of Accounts Payable to Establish procedures and guidelines for Accounts Payable processes including appropriate internal controls Ensures equal distribution of work for Accounts Payable team Responds to internal and external requests for information and assistance including providing information regarding applicable policies.  Prepares and processes electronic transfers and payments Overseeing Processing of Staff Expenses Aged Creditor Reviews Maintain approver/dispatcher table maintenance Responsible for the double checking and posting of BACS related royalty headers received for fortnightly BACS payment run Authorisation of Payment Runs Reconciles Accounts Payable transactions Reviews and verifies invoices, sets invoices up for payment, enters and uploads invoices into SAP financial system Cultivate inclusive and respectful working relationships that support a sense of belonging for all employees. Performs all essential duties of the job Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, Accounts Payable SME, Head of Accounts Payable the public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction Support with testing when required for projects and upgrades from GSS

Ability to: 

Effectively distribute work, train, and schedule staff assignments Effectively communicate instructions and information both verbally and in writing to subordinates. Commit to teamwork and to quality in everyday work Maintain records and files Performs all essential duties of the job Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, Accounts Payable SME, Head of Accounts Payable the public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction Manage and execute multiple tasks Assume ownership in completion of assigned tasks Provide superior customer service for both internal and external customers. Prepare, maintain, and proofread a variety of financially related reports Review documentation to monitor compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations Apply and explain applicable policies and/or procedures. Organize, prioritize, and delegate work assignments Exercise judgment and discretion Recognize problems, identify alternative solutions, and make appropriate recommendations

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years solid Accounts Payable Manager experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment is essential & excellent ability to multitask.

• Strong communication skills - both written and oral

• Professional attitude and ability to communicate with people at all levels

• Strong customer focus

• Good knowledge of SAP is essential

• Highly numerate and accurate with excellent attention to detail

• Good knowledge of Excel
