We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinical psychologistto join our Early Intervention in Psychosis service. The PIER Team (Psychosis Interventionand Early Recovery) supports adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team committed to minimising theimpact of first episode psychosis on individuals and their families.

You will be based at the Merlyn Vaz centre in Leicester city but travelcountywide to see clients in their homes and local communities.

You will work closely with other clinical psychologists in the team andwill be well supported in this rewarding role in a service that really valuespsychological perspective and input. Training and ongoing professional developmentwill be prioritised.

The PIER team is part of an established, psychology led, trauma informedPsychosis Pathway within the Trust. You will join a network of experiencedpsychologists and psychological therapists committed to promoting anon-pathologising understanding of distress aimed at reducing stigma, promotingempowerment, and increasing social inclusion.

There are senior psychologists in strategic positions within the Trustleading on our Transformation process. It is an exciting time to join us and agreat place to work as a psychologist as services become increasingly traumafocused and formulation driven

Main duties of the job

You will receive clinical supervision and linemanagement from the lead psychologist in the PIER Team.

You will provide clinical supervision and linemanagement to our band 7 clinical psychologist.

You will hold a case load anddeliver evidence-based psychological interventions for psychosis andco-existing mental health issues, including family interventions.

Youwill work with the lead psychologist to ensure supervision and governancesystems are in place to support the clinical practice of PIER Psychologists.

Youwill provide supervision, training, consultancy and clinical support to MDT colleagues.

Youwill work with senior colleagues to ensure the continued provision of highquality, responsive psychological therapies which meet NCAP therapy targets,support Step Up to Great Mental Health Service development plans and help toshape a psychologically informed service wide Psychosis Pathway.

Youwill support research, audit and evaluation within PIER.

You will support members of the MDT tocompetently deliver the care required and provide supervision and mentorship topeers and other MDT members.

You will contribute to the teaching of trainee clinical psychologists and supervise trainees on placement within the team.

Essential

Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in or day patient units. Understanding and practical application of skills and knowledge involving a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a specialist clinical psychologist, or an alternative agreed by the Head of Speciality. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity

Qualifications

Essential

PhD or DClinPsych or equivalent in Clinical Psychology including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS/HPC
