We are delighted to be recruiting a Mental Health Practitioner within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Norfolk and Waveney. This is a role working in our Central CAMHS NDD Pathway.

We work with children, young people (0-14 years) and their families, with the principal objectives of providing consultation, training, mental health assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions.

We are open to welcoming people from clinical backgrounds who have experience in other areas of mental health, however you will be expected to be able to demonstrate some experience of working with children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an Mental Health Practitioner who can provide assessment and goal-focussed, evidence-based interventions to young people with Neurodevelopmental difference, who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

You should have experience of risk assessment, an understanding of formulation and the ability to work collaboratively with young people and their families.

The role will be varied however, a large part of this role will be offering emotional support, containment and interventions to children, young people and their families. Together with collaborative working with other services to ensure children receive the right services at the right time.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who is child centred, passionate and understands that all children and young people are individuals and need to be understood.

The successful candidate will work with a Multi-disciplinary team comprising of Psychology, Occupational Health, Social Work and Mental Health Nursing. We collaborate with colleagues from health, education, social care and the voluntary sector.

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or, Nursing degree or equivalent RN (MH) Professional Registration
