Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Our team consists of nearly 3,800 full-time and part-time practitioners, who provide care to service users in hospitals, communities, and homes. We also have over 1,400 staff members providing non-clinical support, including cleaning, catering, supplies delivery, ward administration, information technology, human resources, and financial services.

Role OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a Children's Mental Health Specialist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Norfolk and Waveney.
You will be working within our Central CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Disorder (NDD) Pathway, focusing on children, young people (0-14 years), and their families.
The primary objectives of this role include providing consultation, training, mental health assessments, and short-term therapeutic interventions.
Job Responsibilities- Provide assessment and goal-focused, evidence-based interventions to young people with Neurodevelopmental differences experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Conduct risk assessments, formulate treatment plans, and collaborate with young people and their families.
- Offer emotional support, containment, and interventions to children, young people, and their families.
- Work collaboratively with other services to ensure timely access to necessary services.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Psychology, Occupational Health, Social Work, and Mental Health Nursing professionals.
Requirements- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or equivalent qualifications.
- Knowledge of medication and its effects.
- Familiarity with local systems and networks.
- Ability to travel independently.
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020. A submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
Estimated salary: £38,890 - £44,036 per annum, depending on experience and location. Benefits include a comprehensive in-house and external training program, career progression opportunities, starting annual leave of 27 days (increasing to 33 days based on length of service), plus bank holidays and NHS discounts.
