This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a team that is making a difference through music education.

Arts Council England is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant to support our Music Hubs team, a programme that supports the delivery of high-quality music education to children and young people across the country. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of the Music Hub programme, offering administrative support that keeps everything running efficiently.

You will be responsible for coordinating internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes, and ensuring follow-ups are completed.  Additionally, your role will involve gathering and organising data, preparing briefings, and supporting the team’s day-to-day administrative processes. You will also assist the Senior Management team by managing schedules and travel plans.

As one of the first points of contact for the Music Hub team, you will play an important role in communicating with various stakeholders, making sure queries are answered and connections are maintained. The ideal candidate is organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment, with the flexibility to handle multiple priorities at once.

If you’re passionate about using your administrative skills to support meaningful work, we’d love to hear from you.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • To succeed in this role, you will have experience of providing administrative and programme support, preferably in a similar role.
  • You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple priorities and exercise effective judgement when managing complex tasks.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets would be desirable.
  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills – both speaking and in writing – and the ability to communicate in a confident and engaging manner and influence individuals over whom there is no formal line-management relationship.
  • Finally, you will have a good understanding of the current diversity agenda and its relationship to the work of the role.
