  • Theresponsibilities of this role encompass the duties of both a seniorHR advisor and Team Leader for HR Advisers Assistants andTrainees.
  • Inaddition you will be required to deputise for the Deputy HR TeamManager/ Strategic HR Manager asnecessary.
  • Yourkey responsibilities will primarily focus on case management andthe management of change at all levels working in partnership withmanagers to support them in achieving their people managementoutcomes.
  • Providethorough and technically comprehensive advice to internal andexternal customers on a range of human resource and workforcedevelopment issues including but not limited to employee relationsdisciplinary and grievance employment policies and procedureorganisational design resourcing and successionplanning.
  • Workingin partnership with managers at a senior level to establish anexcellent understanding of their service and the challenges theyface to proactively identify opportunities for operational andstrategicintervention.


Experience of the management of complex casework includingre-organisations and TUPE. Experience of management all aspects ofHuman Resources within Local Government. Experience of working withmanagement, employees and trades unions to achieve staffing relatedservice delivery improvements and evidence of successful managementof professional teams bringing about improvements in servicesthrough change management and influencing the behaviours andactions of others. Up to date knowledge of employment legislation,its legal implications and HR best practice. Commitment to CPD bothpersonal and professional. In depth knowledge and understanding ofthe Employment Tribunal Service and associated services (ACAS).Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills,effective management of staff and resources. Excellentorganisational skills, ability to prioritise and delegate withexperience of designing & delivering workshops and briefingsessions and experience of working with computerised informationsystems. Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills,resilience and the ability to work effectively with people at alllevels within an organisation with the ability to engage andmotivate individuals and teams in meeting performanceobjectives.
