The Senior Leadership Role within our Commercial Services Department is a pivotal position driving the future of training provision. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and progressive training programs, the role entails managing intricate external relationships with clinical, co-responding, and business partners across diverse markets. Main duties of the job

Drive the delivery of effective, quality, and safe training provision for both internal and external stakeholders. Manage complex external relationships with clinical, co-responding, and business partners across diverse markets. Cultivate strong commercial relationships with industry partners, stakeholders, and national organizations. Navigate the intricate details and broader strategic landscape of training and clinical practice. Deliver innovative leadership to develop cutting-edge training programs for the next generation of healthcare professionals and volunteers. Foster a culture of compassion, learning, and engagement aligned with our Trust Vision and Values. Provide direct leadership to the TrainEEAST Team and contribute to the senior leadership of all Commercial Teams within the Department.

EEAST employs over 5,000 staff with a further 1,000+ volunteers who between them cover 7,500 square miles and care for a population of more than 6 million.

Our three control rooms in Bedfordshire, Norfolk and Essex handle more than 1 million 999 calls every year, over 2,500 calls a day. 

We manage a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles including double staffed ambulances, rapid response cars, operational commander response vehicles, patient transport and support service vehicles.

The East of England works alongside 17 Acute Trusts with Accident & Emergency services and a Major Trauma Centre in Cambridge. Access is available to neighbouring MTCs such as those in London.

Essential criteria

Recognised managerial leadership qualification, or applied demonstrable experience. Level 7 Master’s Degree in a business-related subject, or equivalent management and senior management experience in a commercial environment related to education and training.

Desirable criteria

Postgraduate Qualification in marketing/sales/ promotion. Recognised quality assurance qualification (ie IQA, EQA) or equivalent experience.
