Job summary

Victoria Surgery has an opportunity for a secretarial administrator to join our busy practice support team, on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week, Tuesday and Friday , to support our busy administration teams. Interviews will be held week commencing 16th September.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinate and work up SARS requests, confirm verification in place, on spreadsheet for processing and process using IGPR software under supervision of secretarial team. Transcribe dictations. Process all referrals via ERS and ensure safety netting is carried out for all 2 week wait referrals. Monitor emails: Sort and action information request e-mails. Manage telephone enquiries. Raise invoices. Basic paperwork. Recall all long-term condition patients as per surgery protocol. S1 tasks. Queries re waiting times. Processing of insurance and medical reports. Code range of clinical details into notes in line with agreed protocols/procedures.

We are part of the Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Network and the successful candidate will work alongside a teamincluding paramedics, social prescriber, health and wellbeing coach, care coordinators and pharmacy technician. Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Experience of dealing with medical paperwork. Experience of working with computer packages. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality. Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense. Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team. Able to work under pressure in a changing environment. Able to use own initiative. Attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities.

Desirable

Experience of S1 clinical system. Experience of working in a GP practice or other primary care environment. Experience of working in a public reception environment. Experience of telephone switchboard operation. Leadership or management experience.
