SEN Teacher for Primary School SEN Hub

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Bootle (L30)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £120-160 per day
Start Date: 16.09.24

The Role:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our SEN Hub team. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCo, support staff, and mainstream teachers to deliver high-quality education to children with diverse needs. You will play a pivotal role in planning, delivering, and assessing personalised learning programmes, helping each child achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons that cater to the specific needs of pupils within the SEN Hub.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support the learning and development of children with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with the SENCo to create and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils, ensuring all targets are met and progress is regularly monitored.
  • Collaborate with mainstream teachers to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to education across the school.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of all pupils within the SEN Hub.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each child’s education.
  • Keep up to date with best practices and developments in SEN education, and participate in ongoing professional development.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working within an SEN environment, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
