Special Educational Needs Teacher for Primary School SEN Hub

Position: Special Educational Needs Teacher
Location: Bootle (L30)

Role Overview:
Teaching Personnel is in search of a committed and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teacher to become a vital member of our SEN Hub team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the SENCo, support staff, and mainstream educators to provide exceptional educational experiences for children with varied needs. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and evaluating tailored learning programs, enabling each child to reach their utmost potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver stimulating, individualized lessons that address the unique requirements of students within the SEN Hub.
  • Formulate and execute effective teaching methodologies to facilitate the learning and growth of children with diverse SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Partner with the SENCo to develop and assess Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring that all objectives are achieved and progress is consistently tracked.
  • Collaborate with mainstream educators to foster a unified and inclusive educational approach throughout the institution.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional, and academic advancement of all students within the SEN Hub.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and external specialists to ensure a holistic approach to each child's educational journey.
  • Stay informed about best practices and advancements in SEN education, participating in continuous professional development.

About You:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience in an SEN setting, preferably within a primary school context.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in creating and executing IEPs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A patient, compassionate, and flexible teaching style, with a genuine commitment to supporting children with SEN.
  • A dedication to cultivating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
