What to expect

An opportunity has arisen within our NBIT Team to join as an Associate Product Owner. The Associate Product Owner is accountable for the products within our new core trading platform that they are assigned. The products the PO will be responsible for are Postmaster facing and will be used by every Postmaster and their staff, across the Country. 

 

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the team are “doing the right things”, whereas the others in the team are focused on, “doing them right”.  Working in collaboration with the Lead Product Owner and other Product Owners within the NBIT Team, the Associate Product Owner will work closely with business process owners to gain a deep understanding of the requirements for their product to accurately define and prioritise work for the software development team. As a key position in the NBIT Team, this role will help shape then guide the product through which Post Office deliver a vastly improved experience for our Postmasters and Customers.

What you’ll need to succeed

As an associate Product Owner who will proactively manage our Product Backlog, you will have:

 

•    Technology delivery experience  
•    Product management experience (1-3 years) 
•    Understanding of technology (some form of code/low-code experience a big plus) 
•    Post Office industry relevant experience 
•    Experience of working in Scrum teams  
•    Extensive experience of working in an Agile environment with a focus on fast-paced delivery  
•    Strong collaborator and communicator, excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build key relationships and work collaboratively with wider teams including Marketing, Legal, Risk and Compliance
