As a Project Engineer specializing in Body Interior, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and execution of interior components for our automotive projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of vehicle interiors that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation. Additionally, you will actively contribute to outreach initiatives aimed at promoting STEM education within the community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate project tasks related to body interior development, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, select, and apply appropriate techniques and criteria for interior component design and integration.
  • Utilize your expertise to make informed decisions and adaptations to standard practices, particularly in managing small work packages within the project scope.
  • Manage and oversee defined assignments, including 3D CAD geometry development, workflow development, and project documentation preparation.
  • Support various tasks across departments and functions as required, contributing to the development of schedules and budgets for project deliverables.
  • Take ownership of relevant project sections related to body interior design, managing interfaces with styling and ensuring optimal occupant positioning.
  • Provide project engineering oversight for full vehicle interior systems, including fascia, tunnel, seating, restraints, instrument and controls, lower and rear trim, upper trim, closure trim, and HVAC.
  • Implement project management best practices, including design for manufacture and assembly principles, to ensure compliance with project objectives and legal standards.
  • Lead work package assignments, conducting design sizing analysis, assembly level simulations, and cost, timing, and mass assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and partners, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Previous experience in project engineering or related roles within the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and project management best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field.
