We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Kings Hill, Kent.

As a Financial Controller at Westfalia Fruit UK, your key responsibility will be the efficient operation of the Finance Department, ensuring that all underlying accounting records are accurate and up to date. You will oversee a team of 7 across two sites to ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, and reporting is completed, including the management of cash flow, and the coordination of audits. Your role involves analysing financial performance, developing strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Review of month end accruals and prepayments;
  • Reconciliation / review of control accounts;
  • Review fixed assets register and monthly depreciation charge calculations;
  • Verification of month end stock balances;
  • Post monthly payroll journals and reconcile payroll control accounts;
  • Investigation of actual variances to budget and prior year;
  • KPI reporting with commentary;
  • Forecasts for the full year estimate;
  • Presentation of management accounts at the monthly senior management meeting.
  • Supervise and Develop a team of 7 members of finance staff across 2 sites.

Requirements

Essential

  • Formally qualified with ACCA/ACA/CIMA
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills to manage the large volumes of data
  • Prophet system experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential
  • Approachable and adaptable

Desirable

  • Relevant experience gained within the fresh produce industry
  • Management experience
  • Confidence to self manage the delivery of accurate and timely month/year end reporting
  • Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment
