Cloud Data Governance Lead

**What you can expect as a Cloud Data Governance Lead**:
- Salary of £65,000
- Permanent
- Hybrid/Remote role - must be flexible with travel

As our new Cloud Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing a robust data governance framework and ensuring that the engineers align to this. This role is pivotal in unifying and streamlining data needs from multiple countries into a single coherent, conceptual model.
To excel in this role, you’ll need to possess exceptional data modelling, interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage stakeholders to lead this initiative
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Lead workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to design a unified model of 100s of metrics across cross-functional teams
- Serve as a liaison between business units to harmonise data definitions and metrics
- Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance strategy and framework
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards and procedures to ensure data integrity and quality
- Work with various teams to define data governance requirements for data collection, storage and usage
- Design and implement processes for Data Classification, Data Lineage, metadata management and data access controls
- Work with Cloud Data Engineers to adhere to the framework, using tools and technologies to implement the data model
- Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements (e.g. UK GDPR/DPA)
- Provide guidance and training to the teams on data governance and the practices and standards you establish
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Data Governance
- Recommend and Implement improvements to enhance data management practices and support business objectives
**We are looking for someone with**:
- Experience of data modelling concepts such as Kimball and tools such as Erwin to build conceptual data models
- Experience in designing and implementing data governance processes and procedures
- Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in Data Governance and Data management
- Experience working in a multi-national environment, handling data across different countries and regulatory landscapes
- Data management concepts and best practice such as DM-BOK
- Appreciation/previous experience of Azure tools and products - Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lakes, DevOps
- Appreciation/previous experience of SparkSQL, T-SQL, SQL Server, Power BI technologies and data
- Data management concepts and best practice such as DM-BOK
