Job summary

We are looking for an efficient and motivated individual to join our Team as a Business Unit Support Secretary within the Surgical Directorate. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our busy administrative team to provide secretarial support to the the Management and wider teams.

This post is part time 16 hours over two days. Preferably Thursday and Friday but will be confirmed at Interview.

Although the post is based at NTGH the successful candidate will be expected to travel Trust wide if required.

Main duties of the job

The primary purpose of this role is to Support the Business Unit Secretaries and Senior Management team within the Surgical Directorate with all administrative and clerical duties.

o Act up in absence of a Business Unit Secretary for periods of annual leave/short-term sickness absence. This may include additional days cover to support the needs of the service.

o Manage diaries, arrange/minute meetings, communication with GPs & patients.

o Typing & transcription of meetings, clinical & non-clinical documents.

o Liaise with patients, internal and external companies to arrange referrals, and appointment dates.

o Ensure all Outsourcing tracking, documentation, administration and appointment processing is kept up to date and follow ups are completed appropriately.

o Resource management - ordering of supplies & equipment

Qualifications

Essential

RSA 3/OCR or equivalent or relevant typing/word processing experience o GCSE English grade C or above or equivalent qualification

Desirable

AMSPAR Diploma (or equivalent experience) ECDL GCSE Maths grade C or above or equivalent qualification Knowledge of Medical Terminology & procedures
