Job summary
Based in central Wimbledon , we are an established GP Practice, with over 14500 patients and a supportive, friendly staff team. We don;t want to limit our options and so we are open to applications for Reception Managers and or Deputy Reception Managers hence the merged title.
The role of the Reception Manager/Deputy Reception Manager is a key part of the practice team. We are looking to recruit 1 or 2 Managers, covering a total of 37 hours per week.
This is an afternoon role to cover five afternoons and one morning afternoon shift starts at 12:30pm and finishes at 6:30pm. With a Monday and Wednesday finishing time of 7:30pm and 1 morning session starting at 8am.
We are ideally looking for someone with GP reception experience who is keen to use their skills of leading and supporting a team. You will have good communication skills and attention to detail, along with good IT skills and plenty of enthusiasm. You will be able to interact positively with our patients and staff to ensure smooth running of our reception. You must be punctual, reliable, and able to multi-task.

Overview of the team: The reception team is made up of a manager, and up to 9 other Receptionists. The practice is a great place to work, the team work hard but everyone is incredibly supportive and helpful.
Salary is dependent on experience.

All tasks that are undertaken by a receptionist as well as providing leadership in the absence of/in collaboration with the Reception Manager Provide support to afternoon reception staff and clinicians. Managed the E-consultations during the afternoon De-escalate complaints. Provide additional cover when Reception Manager or staff are absent. Ensure staff perform their duties effectively and efficiently. Ensure the closing down of the building in line with protocol. Ensuring admin work other duties are completed by team daily Having a can-do, will -do attitude.

Job responsibilities
This role is essential to ensuring the smooth running ofthe reception area. The role will actively support staff to book appointmentswith the correct clinical staff and signpost in line with practice policy. This role will better ensure that appointment utilisationis optimised, clinical time is prioritised and tasks that can be undertakeneffectively by non-clinicians are diverted appropriately. The rolewill ensure also ensure the e-consultations and patient queries are directed tothe appropriate clinicians/staff.
The role involves supporting the current Reception Manager to arrange cover for sickness/annual leave periods, planningand implementing change, support with staff induction and training andsupporting staff with difficult situations/patients when the need arises.
The successful person will be able to lead byexample and ensure we are providing a quality patient facing service and thatinteractions with patients are managed professionally, compassionately and inline with practice standards.
