MTS is currently looking for an IELTS Exams Manager at its London headquarters, situated at 65 Westcroft Square, London.

Job Details:

  • Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, 35-hour working week 35 hours per week)
  • Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 p.a. including London weighting and annual discretionary staff bonus, dependent on business and personal performance.
  • Role type: Fixed-term (12 months), with high likelihood of making permanent after first year
  • Location: Office-based role with flexible working style, at our Head Office at 65 Westcroft Square, London, W6 0TA, UK and occasional UK and international travel (Ireland and Europe)
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK 
  • Start date: Immediate start
  • Reporting To: Head of Exams

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the IELTS exam team that delivers the full end-to-end process for MTS’s IELTS exams, including exam preparation, exam delivery, results, and Senior Test administrators and Test Administrators.
  • Ensure that IELTS exams comply to agreed exam board, awarding body or partner standards
  • Work towards annual targets set for each exam venue
  • Work with Customer Care Administrators for prompt and successful resolution of incoming problematic, complex or high-risk customer complaints or refund requests arising from the Customer Care Administrators for prompt and successful resolution
  • Work with the compliance and improvement manager to produce an annual internal audit plan which outlines MTS’s approach to internal auditing of all MTS’s exam venues regarding IELTS exams
  • Manage inspection visits from exam boards as well as carrying out regular inspections of exam venues, keeping appropriate records for compliance, with support from the Exams Compliance & Training Manager.
  • Respond to and implement recommendations from both internal and external audits and compliance visits, with the support of the Exams Compliance & Training Manager.
  • Work effectively with colleagues in HR (recruitment, onboarding, performance management and training) to schedule and manage IELTS exam team
  • Conduct and implement regular reviews of all IELTS exams policies, programmes and practices to keep Senior Management and staff informed of new developments and create a performance driven organisation
  • Assist the Head of Exams in driving strategic business change management projects and programmes
  • Attend appropriate training including webinars, training courses, personnel training, etc for continuous learning and growth
  • Provide emergency weekend ‘on-call’ support to the Senior Test Administrators, working approximately 13 weekends across the calendar year, on a rota basis (additional remuneration is provided over and above the base salary in return for these additional responsibilities), if required. 

 

Person Specification: 

 

  • Experience with the IELTS exam desirable
  • Degree in business administration or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years’ of experience in IELTS exams management or testing administration role, or equivalent 
  • Proven experience in invigilating of high-stakes exams
  • Good knowledge of the testing, examination, teaching and education sectors
  • Fully IT literate 
  • Strong people management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Absolute commitment to confidentiality and duty of care
  • Customer centric
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Can Do Attitude
