Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and report on risk management, governance, and mitigation strategies while offering guidance to examination operations within the MENA North & MENA West regions. This includes ensuring compliance with various audits such as Quality and Compliance Assurance (QCA), IELTS, and other awarding body standards. The focus will be on comprehending the diverse standards applicable to Exams policies and procedures and assisting operations in navigating these frameworks to identify suitable solutions for improvement and risk management. Additionally, this role will support centers in effectively implementing action points derived from examination reviews. The position will also be responsible for managing incidents on Protect for all products, excluding IELTS.

Main Responsibilities:

Ownership of Risk Management, Consultancy, Analysis & Problem-Solving:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Exams Operations team on Risk, encompassing Compliance and Counter Fraud in MENA North & MENA West to ensure effective operation of defined processes.
  • Facilitate clear communication within Exams Operations and with relevant stakeholders regarding the aforementioned workstreams.
  • Manage all tools and trackers essential for the efficient operation of these workstreams.
  • Conduct thorough self-audit QCA reviews on behalf of operations, primarily within MENA North & MENA West, offering prioritized recommendations to enhance compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate closely with the ROM to develop and maintain a risk management plan that identifies potential risks, outlines preventive measures, and establishes accountability for incident management.
  • Guide exam colleagues in conducting self-assessments and provide ongoing updates regarding corporate standards and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform spot checks on test day procedures and CMR procedures as agreed with CL and ROM.
  • Utilize professional expertise in QCA, IELTS, and Awarding Body standards to support exam centers in monitoring compliance and improving performance.
  • Assist the ROM in enhancing colleagues' capabilities in MENA North & MENA West, particularly in understanding and embedding Exams standards through various training methods.
  • Deliver regular updates and tailored reports to key stakeholders on quality and compliance status, ensuring timely reporting of risks.
  • Oversee incident and malpractice reporting on Protecht for all Exams (excluding IELTS) within the cluster.

Internal Customer Focus:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the operational context, opportunities, and challenges in MENA North & MENA West to provide informed advice and support.
  • Gather feedback from internal customers and stakeholders to assess satisfaction with the quality of advice and support provided, making recommendations for improvement.

Support to Business Assurance:

  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Global Compliance standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving Exam Board standards.
  • Assist in communicating and implementing changes to QCA, IELTS, and Awarding body standards with operational teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of examination distribution products and services across MENA.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Exams Administration or a similar role.
  • Experience in conducting Quality and Compliance audits or quality reviews in an examination or customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with IELTS auditing, either internally or in a contractor capacity.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required as the British Council operates in English.
  • A university degree or equivalent qualification.
