Job Summary

Citi is seeking a highly experienced and skilled EMEA Head of Credit and Risk Management to lead our credit risk management efforts in Europe, UK, and Middle East and Africa (MEA) clusters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Citi's Exposure to Financial Institutions: Proactively manage Citi's credit exposures in Europe, UK, and MEA clusters, including loans, derivatives, and other capital markets products.
  • Develop and Execute Risk Strategy: Actively engage with business heads to formulate risk appetite, set portfolio guidelines, and execute the business strategy.
  • Balance Risk and Return: Ensure that risk/return of the portfolio is well-balanced and deliver the global Counterparty Credit Risk strategy in the Europe, UK, and MEA clusters.
  • Represent Citi in Governance Committees: Represent Europe, UK, and MEA clusters on Financial Institutions and Counterparty Credit Risk (FICC) applicable governance committees and forums.
  • Provide Senior Risk Approvals: Provide Senior Risk Approvals at Risk SCO 1 level and manage a team and matrix reports.
  • Enhance Risk/Return of Transactions: Actively manage and enhance the risk/return of specific transactions and the risk profile of the portfolio as a whole.
  • Stay Informed of Industry Developments: Stay well-informed of industry, product, macro-economic, and regulatory developments in order to properly position the portfolio.
  • Manage Portfolio in Context of Cluster Risk Trends: Manage the portfolio in the context of cluster risk trends and business opportunities, utilizing and implementing relevant tools including product stress testing.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable Financial Institutions Credit Experience: Candidate should have demonstrable financial institutions credit or related experience.
  • University Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics: University Degree - Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics or equivalent is a plus.
  • Business Convention, Culture, Language Familiarity: Business convention, culture, language familiarity with one or more of the coverage countries/markets is a plus.
  • People Management and Leadership Skills: People management, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are needed in order to effectively lead our staff and engage with seniors in business initiatives.
  • Solid Risk and Business Judgment: Solid risk and business judgment on the full spectrum of risk issues including Market, Operational, and Franchise Risks.
  • Considerable Capital Markets Experience: Considerable capital markets experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to decompose complex transactions into the core risks.
  • Demonstrated Integrity and Credit Judgment: Demonstrated integrity and sound/independent credit judgment.
