NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The shift pattern for this position is long day shift pattern, 7 day fortnight with occasional night shift required..
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced RMN/RNLD to join us as a Senior Charge Nurse.
The Directorate of Forensic Mental Health provides inpatient care in both medium and low secure settings. The service provides a safe, secure and therapeutic environment for patients with a focus on risk assessment and reduction, rehabilitation and discharge planning for the return to the community.
The post holder will have clinical leadership and line management responsibility for a staff team and be accountable for the co-ordination and provision of specialist nursing care and treatment for individuals who have a mental disorder or learning disability who have demonstrated serious offending behaviour or present significant risk to themselves or others. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the organisations objectives, promote team working and ensure safe and effective clinical practice within their area or responsibility.
