Job Summary:
NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 5 nurse to join our team in one of our Older Adults mental health wards in Leverndale Hospital. As a staff nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development and implementation of care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient care needs and develop and evaluate programs of care in partnership with patients, carers, and other professionals.
- Carry out all relevant forms of care in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.
- Take charge of the ward and supervise and teach junior staff, both qualified and unqualified.
- Mentor nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training.
- Practice within a legal and ethical framework as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct, national mental health-related legislation, and national and local policy, guidelines, and protocols.
Requirements:
- Live PIN with the NMC UK.
- Ability to work rotational day/night shifts, including weekends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Working Hours:
NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
