Job Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team in the Older Adult Mental Health Wards at Leverndale Hospital. As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to patients with organic mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the assessment and implementation of patient care plans, utilising evidence-based practice and considering individual needs and preferences.
  • Supervise and support registered and unregistered nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with patients, carers, and other professionals to promote partnership working and improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in site page holding duties, including night duty, to ensure the smooth operation of the inpatient service.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Robust experience of working as a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse, with a strong understanding of organic mental health conditions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including night duty, to meet the needs of the service.
