Job Summary

The Senior Charge Nurse within Renfrewshire Mental Health In-Patient Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality care is delivered to patients in our mental health wards. This position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent communication skills.

The post-holder will lead the nursing team, in-line with the Senior Charge Nurse job description, and have 24-hour continuing responsibility for the ward they manage. It is essential that the post-holder is a First-Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with significant post-registration experience and relevant speciality experience with appropriate post-registration training.

You will be required to participate in the Senior Charge Nurse On-Call rota. Initial placement will be decided on appointment but could be based on any of the three Renfrewshire Mental Health In-Patient sites; Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital or Leverndale Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing team to ensure high-quality care is delivered to patients
  • Have 24-hour continuing responsibility for the ward they manage
  • Participate in the Senior Charge Nurse On-Call rota
  • Meet the essential criteria for the post, including post-registration experience and relevant speciality experience
Requirements
  • Valid PIN with the NMC UK
  • First-Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with significant post-registration experience
  • Relevant speciality experience with appropriate post-registration training
