Role Summary

The Senior Research Nurse will be responsible for coordinating and
managing the delivery of a portfolio of Clinical Trials and the management of Clinical

The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, skills and experience within Clinical Research, and act as a resource to advise and support those involved in Clinical trials at all levels. The post-holder will be able to autonomously plan, implement, organise and manage concurrent research projects.

They will develop networks with Multidisciplinary Teams across the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and other appropriate Local and National Agencies.

They will coordinate and manage the relevant study portfolio and deliver recruitment accrual in line with performance and monitoring objectives.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Clinical Trials Team as a Senior Research Nurse. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the performance of clinical trials mainly with regard to the orthopaedic portfolio and the management of a team of clinical research staff within. 

As a Senior Research Nurse you will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of Clinical trials. You will ensure that research will be conducted in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines to provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected. You will ensure that all research procedures are conducted according to study protocols and will be accountable for the recruitment, data collection and care of research participants with a focus on providing a quality experience.

The post will require an understanding of setting up and running commercial and non- commercial portfolio adopted studies as well as building relationships with our local Principal and Chief investigators.

The Senior Research Nurse must be able to autonomously plan, implement and manage concurrent research projects as well as providing expert knowledge, skill and experience to support those involved in clinical trials. Although this role is for a Research Nurse within the Orthopaedic Team, there may be a requirement to work within a wide range of specialties; therefore, this role requires a high degree of flexibility, confidence and self-motivation.

Working within Clinical Trials is a challenging yet rewarding role which involves leading on studies that will potentially impact on patient treatments of the future

Working Pattern: hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (3 days across this time period)
