We are looking for an experienced, keen and motivated Corporate Policy Officer (Corporate Planning) to join our team.

This is an interesting, exciting and rewarding role.

As part of the team, you will be involved in all aspects of the council’s corporate planning, service planning and governance arrangements, ensuring they are delivered in line with legislation and statutory guidance.

This post offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team.

Working with working with Elected Members, senior officers and staff from both within the council and partner organisations will be a key part of your job, so you will need excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

The main duties of the post:

To support the council’s corporate planning and service planning arrangements, ensuring they are delivered in line with diverse and complex legislation and statutory guidance for the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.To support the arrangements to ensure the council’s governance arrangements meet the statutory requirements contained in the Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021.To provide advice and guidance on the above legislation to council staff, elected Members and other key stakeholders.To continually keep the above arrangements under review to ensure they add value and demonstrate the council is meeting its objectives.To collect, analyse and interpret data and transfer into reports that provide a holistic overview

You will have experience in/of:

working at a strategic level within a corporate planning functioninterpreting complex legislation and statutory guidanceproviding advice and guidance to both Senior Management and elected Members.writing clear, concise strategic plans, policies and reports for a variety of audiences, including the public.Project management
