Job summary – What to expect: 

The HR Business Advisor will be the first point of contact for employees and managers in our specialty business area No7, to provide advice and guidance in a range of people management processes which align with the HR strategy to recruit, retain and develop talented employees. The role will report into, and support the Senior HR Business Partner.

You will provide generalist HR advice and support to managers and employees on a range of people management activities including strategy, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management and development, employee engagement and reward.

The role will provide efficient operational HR service including timely processing and communication for new hires, promotions, transfers or other changes to Terms & Conditions, and maintenance of accurate HR data.

The role is part of the HR team supporting their specific functions and areas and will include working in collaboration with other HR colleagues in projects aligned to the functional HR and business objectives.

About you:

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

Proactively provide generalist HR advice and support to a defined group of managers and employees in line with Company policies and procedures and relevant employment legislation where applicable. In partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team and HR Business Partner, advise and assist managers with recruitment campaigns, writing of job descriptions. and conducting interviews. Coach managers to enable them to manage and develop their team’s performance in line with the Company’s Performance Enablement Process Advise and guide managers on salary and benefits processes in line with relevant Company Policies  Support managers to analyse Engagement Survey feedback and support design and implementation of action plans in regard to appropriate improvement activities. Design and deliver HR training workshops (. performance management, engagement, employee relations, absence management and employment law) Collaborate with the Learning & Development function to raise awareness of development opportunities and address development needs arising in defined business areas. Advise and assist managers with assisted departures and liaison with external legal advisors. Assist managers with Employee Relations processes as required, including absence management, disciplinaries, grievances and investigations in line with legislation and company procedures. Liaise with external legal advisors as required. Contribute to the improvement and development of HR Policies and Procedures ensuring compliance with employment legislation where applicable. Lead or participate in improvement projects in line with the functional HR objectives. Work in partnership with HR Directors, HR Managers, HR Business Partners and other HR Business Advisors with any ad hoc duties and projects to identify and drive improvement projects aimed at attracting, maintaining and developing an exceptional CooperVision team and at improving the HR function. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Team, PowerPoint and Outlook. HR information systems experience (Oracle HCM would be advantageous) Up to date knowledge of UK employment law Ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively at all levels. Proactive and able to use initiative to develop solutions. Attention to detail while remaining focused on key objectives. Strong influencing skills Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities. Able to work under pressure. Flexibility to work across the UK sites when required with full, current driving licence. Professional and confidential approach to dealing with sensitive business / personnel issues. Core competencies in project management, teamwork, results, department impact and self-awareness

Experience and Education:

CIPD professional qualification at level 5 as a minimum, is desirable.  A high level of general education including demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills. Ideally degree level education. Relevant HR experience including advising and guiding managers in a range of people management activities. Ideally will have experience of participating or leading HR projects.  Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
