Take the lead on evidence synthesis and other specific VPDP programme areas, and to support All Wales training activities

The work of the Lead Public Health Evidence and Knowledge Analyst will focus on evidence synthesis for effective and evidence-based delivery for all national immunisation programmes. Key elements include reviewing published and grey literature to synthesis guidance and information supporting high performance in vaccination systems, identifying and engaging with key stakeholders, and collaborative working across NHS and non-NHS organisations. Influencing and negotiating will require a high level of knowledge, skill and competency.

The post holder will support the Vaccine Preventable Disease Programme (VPDP) within Public Health Wales and contribute to the development of specific areas of the programme to support the strategic goals of Public Health Wales. The post holder will deliver programme objectives by working with the programme team. The team will providing nursing, scientific, information and administrative functions

Main duties of the job

Work independently and with colleagues within a team, supporting VPDP objectives and relevant professionals across Wales to support the control of vaccine preventable disease. This will include complex interactions involving multi-disciplinary and multi-agency contact.

Lead, undertake and participate in research and clinical audits in own specialist area.

Work in a collaborative manner within Public Health Wales, and across NHS Wales to assist and develop an All Wales approach national immunisation campaigns, and with colleagues across UK.

Identify and understand the needs of stakeholders and provide sound judgement using influencing, negotiating and diplomatic skills.

Take responsibility for work delegated by the Head VPDP and Principal Epidemiologist / Deputy Head of VPDP.

Initiate and lead on specific issues related to evidence synthesis and knowledge creation.

Organise and manage personal workload efficiently, ensuring that local, regional and national Public Health Wales work programme targets are met, and supporting NHS Wales colleagues with their programme aims.

Lead, manage, develop, and facilitate evidence synthesis and knowledge sharing activities for the national immunisation programmes in Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
