About the role
We are now recruiting a Departmental Administrator to manage the departmental operational processes and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial and operational management of the department, including financial and grant administration, research governance, and oversight of staffing and students. As the most senior administrative position within the department this is an exciting and varied leadership role, with the opportunity to line manage staff, be involved in a range of activities across the department, and facilitate cutting edge translational research for patient benefit.
The post is available from 17 March to facilitate a handover with the current post holder.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of time on site.

About you
You will have experience of working at a senior management level within a large, complex organisation coupled with a good knowledge of UK legislation related to research governance and data protection and experience in the operational delivery and financial management of major research programmes; a professional management qualification would be desirable. Confidence in analysing and communicating complex financial information to a range of audiences, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships is also essential for this role.
This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.
