Job summary

We are currently looking toemploy a full time Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager, to support the Ward Manager withclinical and administrative duties on Cherry Orchard Ward, which is a 24 bedunit. The role will include day, nightsand weekend working.

The ward has a team of GPs,ANPs, RNs, HCAs together with supporting staff in Social Services, Facilitiesand Housekeeping.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties willbe to be responsible for the day to day management of the ward, in the absenceof the Ward Manager. Manage the admissionsand discharge of patients. Evaluate and reassessnursing care according to clinical need. Supervise, supportand encourage staff development Facilitate audit forthe ward. Assist in managingthe ward budget. Participate inrecruitment for the ward. Maintain your ownpersonal and professional development Ensure Trustpolicies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to
