Working as part of the clerical team within the Women and Children’s Department. Responsible for providing clerical support to the clinical teams on the wards and undertaking general administrative duties within the department, including filing, booking appointments and ensuring that case notes are available as and when required.

The post holder will be required to provide cover during periods of staff absence.
- Provide a reception service for the wards to welcome patients, visitors and clinicians.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of all patients on the ward using the hospital computer system admitting, transferring and discharging patients on the system as and when necessary.
- Ensure EDN/Ward attender letter is completed for each patient and sent to GP; accordingly, escalate to ward manager if this has not occurred
- Ensure that up to date and complete case notes are available on ward during patient’s stay.
