South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Adult ADHD andAutism Service is looking to recruit a high calibre Specialty Doctor.

Main duties of the job

Were looking for a Specialty Doctor to work with our Adult ADHD and Autism Service based in Manygates Clinic in Wakefield. This post will only work in the Autism Pathway.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, who will work closely with an experienced and friendly multi- disciplinary team.

As a senior member of the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to help shape our services and drive change within the organisation and you will be well supported by the senior leadership team.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post. You would have spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training. Of these at least 1 years training in Adult Psychiatry or be able to demonstrable achievement of the necessary equivalent experience and competencies.

Qualifications

Essential

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management. MRCPsych Training in diagnostic instruments specific to Autism such as DIVA, CAADID.

Experience

Essential

Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post. Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience. At least two years experience in adult psychiatry; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

Desirable

In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice. Experience in General Adult psychiatry is desirable. Equivalent experience is acceptable, if appropriate competencies can be demonstrated and with agreement of the medical director. Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine, and A&E.

Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty. Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others. Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA. Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.

Desirable

Undertaken research at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Previous evidence of an interest in, or a commitment to psychiatry. Experience of working in the NHS.
