National Sales Manager - Independent Retail


The Role: An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative and results driven National Sales Manager to join our client's senior leadership team, managing a team of 7 field-based Area Sales Managers across the UK, and 1 telesales account manager based at their head office in close proximity to the M62 corridor.


As the National Sales Manager you will be responsible for driving sales solely through your team, utilising your skillset of coaching, developing, supporting and setting various KPI's to aid them in meeting their own personal goals, in order for the team to achieve their overall objectives.


The team will be focused on selling the companies broad portfolio of homeware products, including Mats, Runners, Soft Furnishings, Cleaning Products, Laundry Essentials to name a few, predominantly managing a range of existing accounts throughout the independent retail sector, including the likes of Garden Centre's, DIY/Hardware stores & Homeware Stores, looking to grow, upsell and cross sell into these where possible, as well as maintaining a steady pipeline of potential new clients within their designated territories.


You will lead from the front, provide detailed reports to senior management on progress through effective analysis of data provided, and also be responsible for recruitment.


Due to the nature of the role and the business, when you are not out in the field working with your team, you will be based from the Head Office where you will liaise with other senior level stakeholders in the business & other departments as needed, so you will need to be based in and around the M62 corridor.


The Package for National Sales Manager:


· Basic: Up to £55'000 basic salary (could flex for the right candidate)

· Bonus: £10'000 OTE (this is uncapped)

· Hybrid Company Car

· Benefits: Mobile phone, Laptop, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, company pension scheme, fuel card.


Requirements: To be considered for the National Sales Manager role you must have:


· Prior experience working as a manager of a field-based sales team

· Previously sold to independent retailers within the hardware/homewares/garden centre sector.

· Worked with homeware products before - within the last 5 years at least.

· A proven track record that demonstrates how you have developed and coached a team

· Strong, proactive man management experience, with the ability to affectively conduct gap analysis and identify potential growth opportunities within existing accounts.
