Manchester UK, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom Homely Full time
Join Our Team as a Technical Sales Manager

We’re looking for a highly motivated Technical Sales Manager to join the team at an exciting time in our journey to making our Homely smart optimiser the product of choice for partners, installers, and end-users.

About Us

At Homely, we leverage innovative technology to drive a zero-carbon future. The global energy landscape is evolving, with a significant shift towards decarbonising power generation through increased renewable capacity. As more sectors, such as transport and heating, become electrified, the demand for power is rising.

Energy suppliers are now offering dynamic electricity tariffs, where prices fluctuate based on renewable energy availability and overall demand on the energy system. This represents a major departure from traditional energy practices. Homely’s cutting-edge products and services are designed to simplify this transition for our partners, installers, and end-customers. We aim to help them save both money and carbon, making the journey towards a sustainable future seamless and efficient.

What You'll Be Doing

Homely is an exciting and innovative product that helps to solve a fast-emerging problem for a new breed of customers that includes B2B partners, installers, and end-users.

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our network of sales partners and installers by leveraging a deep understanding of our products and services. You will be instrumental in driving sales growth, providing technical expertise, and ensuring our partners are fully supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Homely Installations: Drive the growth of Homely installations by providing expert technical support to sales partners and installers.
  • Develop Sales Partnerships: Cultivate and support both existing and new sales partners, enabling them to sell and install Homely products in alignment with individual and business objectives.
  • Technical Training: Deliver both remote and onsite technical training to new installers, ensuring they are well-equipped to install Homely.
  • Relationship Management: Manage ongoing relationships with partners and installers, offering technical support, resolving issues, facilitating training, and overseeing relationship management.
  • Customer Success Support: Collaborate with the Customer Success team to offer support as needed, contributing to a dynamic and agile team environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product, marketing, and customer success teams to enhance our website, FAQs, and other resources to better serve our customers.
  • Onboarding Leadership: Lead the onboarding process for new partners, continuously improving materials, training assets, and guides to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and optimize workflows with a focus on implementing automation where feasible, streamlining operations.
  • Marketing and Support Coordination: Identify the marketing and support needs of our partners, collaborating with internal teams to execute effective strategies.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on sales and partner performance, including volumes, forecasts, trends, complaints, and feedback, providing actionable insights.

We are looking for someone who:

  • A minimum two-years experience in a technical sales &/or support role
  • Can demonstrate proven experience of managing B2B sales partners for technology-based products (preferably in renewables &/or smart / connected technology products).
  • Is a confident and resilient self-starter who can think ‘out the box’ to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities that closely align to both the partners’ needs and Homely’s company mission.
  • Has highly effective account management skills.
  • Is comfortable understanding, explaining and supporting technical products.
  • Is able to analyse data, draw out findings, make recommendations on both opportunities and improvements.
  • Is a confident speaker who can represent the company at events and consistently articulate our proposition.
  • Is a team player who can collaborate with colleagues and partners to develop innovative propositions and help get them to market in record-time, and then continuously improve thereafter.
  • Is outcome focused and takes a hands-on approach to ensuring these are met.
  • Is excited about being part of this once-in-a-lifetime energy transition.
  • Has a genuine passion to work at the forefront of helping to deliver a greener, lower carbon future.

We offer a competitive salary, sales bonus, and benefits, including:

  • Contributory Pension
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Health Cover
  • Choice of equipment, including laptop
  • Training support
  • Regular social events

Salary: Up to £60,000 OTE (up to £40,000 base + bonus)
