Responsibilities


  • Co-ordinate cargo operations from trade inception to completion (cargo operations cycle)
  • Work closely with traders, refinery schedulers, shipping, credit, settlement, demurrage etc. once deals are concluded.
  • Work independently in handling varied operational issues
  • Liaise with counterparties in other oil companies regarding documents and requirements for cargoes
  • Ensure all operational aspects of contracts are adhered to.
  • Issue voyage orders to shipping/counter-parties and monitor progress of vessel, informing trading of any changes in a timely manner.
  • Appoint inspectors for quality and quantity. Check with traders whether expeditors required, specifically DES deals and/or high pour grades or high API grades.
  • Notify loss control of losses and follow up with insurers and counter-parties for any claims.
  • Liaise with credit department if letters of credit are required and ensure cargo loading and discharging adhere to any credit or L/C requirements.
  • Update ETRM accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of each cargo including prompt and accurate filing.
  • Maintain contracts for Chinaoil/Petrochina back to back crude cargoes.
  • Maintain excellent HSE standards
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures


Person Requirements


  • Degree in Chemical Engineering/Mathematics/Finance or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential
  • Relevant operations experience in crude oil or products preferable
  • Understanding of industry standards and their commercial impact, as well as market trends/drivers, competitor markets, terminals, logistics and refinery operations in area of responsibility
  • Careful about details, thorough in completing work tasks, ability to discern discrepancies in data and reports
  • Facilitating analysis and resolution of multiple problems with critical timelines and multiple teams.
  • Required to handle multiple complex and challenging operational issues.
