Key Account Manager (Manchester Base)


The Role

This is a field-based position, traveling at least 3-4 days a week, located in the Northwest, ideally close to the existing customer base, but with broader responsibility for developing assigned accounts across England and Wales.


You will managing extensive business relationships with customers at all levels of the supply chain, to further drive our growth and profitability. Focusing on key growth markets, you will use your technical, commercial and sales knowledge to sell our product offering to existing and new business.


You will look for opportunities in different industries, prospecting for new business, be familiar with working with customers to develop technical, engineered solutions and solving problems, contributing to our ambitious growth targets.


The role sits within our Core Industries business unit and is responsible for the growth of key markets including rail, industrial equipment, healthcare, truck and renewable technologies. This division supports around half of Southco’s Global business, with many complex products, challenging projects and strong customer base. These markets are a vital stream within the UK, and we currently have many premium and “blue chip” companies and supporting supply chain as key customers.

  • Do you have at least 3-5 years selling experience into a variety of technical market with extensive knowledge of technical sales?
  • Are you a persuasive professional with the drive to succeed in Sales?
  • Are you willing to step up to the responsibility of managing and driving business growth in challenging customers and markets?
  • Are you a tenacious and creative problem solver?
  • Do you hold a degree in Engineering or other technical discipline?
  • Are you a resilient self-starter that can work on your own initiative?
  • Do you have experience and a proven record of success of close customer contact in a fast-moving Sales environment?
